Exosome Purification Kits: Fast, Ultracentrifugation-Free EV Isolation
The Exosome Purification Kits (available in Mini, Midi, and Maxi formats) provide a fast, reliable, and convenient method to enrich intact exosomes and extracellular vesicles (EVs) from diverse liquid biopsies, including plasma, serum, urine, and cell culture media. Traditional exosome isolation often relies on time-consuming ultracentrifugation or precipitation reagents that can co-isolate contaminants and aggregate vesicles. Our kits solve this bottleneck by delivering highly pure exosomes ranging from 40 to 200 nm in size without the need for specialised instrumentation, overnight incubations, or protease treatments, ensuring your samples are instantly ready for downstream functional studies, NanoSight® tracking, or electron microscopy.
The purification process is driven by a proprietary Silicon Carbide (SiC) resin matrix that captures exosomes based on their specific surface proteins. This advanced spin-column and slurry chromatography technology eliminates the co-purification of RNA-binding proteins and cell-free circulating RNA, which frequently contaminate exosomal preparations and impede accurate RNA content analysis. By separating exosomes purely through specific matrix interactions, the resulting EVs maintain their structural integrity and biological activity, allowing for subsequent high-fidelity exosomal RNA or DNA isolation.
Key Benefits:
- Ultracentrifugation-Free: No specialised equipment needed. Bypasses the need for tedious ultracentrifugation, filtration, or special syringes, streamlining your daily workflow.
- Rapid Processing: Isolate exosomes in under 30 minutes. Eliminates precipitation reagents and overnight incubations for a remarkably rapid turnaround time.
- High Purity: Free from RNA-binding proteins. Ensures purified exosomes are not contaminated with protein-bound cell-free circulating RNA, protecting the accuracy of your downstream omics data.
- Versatile Input Volumes: Scalable Mini, Midi, and Maxi formats. Accommodates flexible sample inputs ranging from 50 µL to 35 mL, depending on the fluid type (plasma, serum, urine, or cell culture media).
- Broad Compatibility: Ready for functional and physical analysis. Purified intact exosomes are fully compatible with functional assays, NanoSight® (NTA) sizing, and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
Kit Sizes:
| Kit Format | Plasma/Serum | Urine | Cell Culture Media |

Superior Exosome Recovery and Size Distribution

Purification and characterisation of plasma-derived exosomes. Intact exosomes were purified from 1 mL human plasma using Norgen’s Exosome Purification Mini Kit (Cat# 75700). Purified exosomes were resuspended in 200 µL of Norgen’s ExoR buffer, diluted 1:1,000, and analysed using the Particle Metrix ZetaView® Evolution instrument. Nanoparticle tracking analysis revealed a predominant population of plasma-derived exosomes with a mode particle size of 61 nm (A) and a total recovery of 2.58 × 1010 particles per mL of plasma (B). The isolated vesicles exhibited a clean size distribution with no detectable contaminating particles, indicating high purity. In addition, a broader population of exosomes ranging from 50–150 nm was consistently recovered (A), demonstrating efficient isolation across the expected exosomal size range.
