TransIT®-2020 Transfection Reagent: Advanced Animal-Free Delivery
TransIT®-2020 Transfection Reagent is a high-performance, broad-spectrum solution designed to deliver exceptional transfection efficiency across a wide variety of cell types, including hard-to-transfect cell lines and primary cells. Engineered with a proprietary, animal-origin free formulation, it meets the rigorous standards required for translational research and biomanufacturing while providing the versatility needed for general molecular biology applications.
This advanced reagent overcomes the barriers often faced with difficult cells, such as stem cells and primary fibroblasts, ensuring robust gene expression where other reagents fail. TransIT-2020 is fully compatible with serum-containing media and requires no post-transfection medium changes, streamlining your workflow. Its low toxicity profile ensures that high transfection efficiency does not come at the cost of cell health, preserving the physiological relevance of your results.
Key Benefits:
- Superior Performance: High Efficiency. Delivers exceptional gene expression in a broad range of cells, including difficult-to-transfect and primary lineages.
- Regulatory Compliance: Animal-Origin Free. Composition is free from animal-derived components, minimizing contamination risks and facilitating regulatory approval.
- Versatile Application: Broad Spectrum. Proven effective for DNA delivery in diverse applications, from gene editing to protein production.
- Streamlined Workflow: Serum Compatible. Eliminates media changes; complexes are added directly to cells in complete growth medium.
- Cell Viability: Low Toxicity. Gentle formulation maintains cell density and health, crucial for sensitive cell types.

Optimisation Guidelines
To achieve the best performance, TransIT-2020 allows for flexible optimisation. The recommended starting condition is 3 µl of reagent per 1 µg of DNA. Depending on the cell type, the reagent volume can be titrated between 1–4 µl per 1 µg of DNA. For hard-to-transfect cells, ensuring active cell division by splitting cultures 18–24 hours prior to transfection is critical for success.
