UreaGel 8 consists of UreaGel Monomer Solution and UreaGel Complete Buffer Solution (formerly SequaGel 8). The UreaGel Monomer Solution contains urea, as well as acrylamide and bis-acrylamide in the standard 19:1 ratio. UreaGel Complete Buffer Solution contains TBE and TEMED. Upon combining these two solutions, ammonium persulfate is added to form a crystal clear 8% 19:1 electrophoresis matrix containing 1X TBE (89 mM Tris Base, 89 mM Boric Acid, 2 mM EDTA, pH 8.3) and 6M Urea.
