Many RNA templates, especially those rich in GC content, form stable secondary structures like hairpins. Standard reverse transcriptases often stall or dissociate at these points, especially at their optimal temperatures of 37-42 °C. This results in truncated, low-quality cDNA and inaccurate downstream analysis.

The Thermostable Solution
The FastGene® Scriptase III is engineered to function optimally at temperatures up to 55 °C. This high heat melts through complex secondary structures, allowing the enzyme to read the full template and generate high yields of full-length cDNA where other enzymes fail. Furthermore, higher reaction temperatures increase the stringency of primer binding, reducing non-specific priming and ensuring the resulting cDNA pool more accurately reflects the target RNA. This enhanced efficiency and specificity are key to generating reliable data for sensitive downstream applications like qPCR.
