FastGene Molecular Biology Grade Agarose: High Purity Separation
FastGene Molecular Biology Grade Agarose (A4-0744, A4-0746) was developed for the rapid and precise separation of DNA fragments, such as PCR products, plasmid DNA, as well as RNA fragments. The very high quality of this agarose makes it suitable for sensitive molecular biology applications, whilst its high purity ensures excellent transparency and a low background.
This clarity is especially important to obtain sharp and well-defined DNA and/or RNA bands with the highest sensitivity, particularly in the low molecular weight range. Rigorous quality control ensures the lack of DNases and RNases, while background fluorescence with Ethidium Bromide is strictly determined to guarantee optimal signal-to-noise ratios.
Key Benefits:
- High Gel Strength: Robust Composition. Suitable for producing easy-to-handle gels ranging from 0.75% to 2% concentration.
- Guaranteed Range: Versatile Separation. Optimised for a separation range of 250 bp to 23 kb, covering most routine laboratory needs.
- Exceptional Clarity: Low Background. High transparency ensures that even faint bands are visible during gel documentation.
- Quality Assured: Certified Purity. Assayed for the absence of DNases and RNases to protect sample integrity.
Technical Insights
Fig. 1: Resolution Comparison
Comparison of three different agaroses in regard to resolution of small fragments: 52 x 60 mm gels, 4% agarose; 100V 20 min.; 1x TAE buffer.
The detection of small bands is only possible with high-quality agarose. In the comparison below, two gels were prepared using the FastGene Agarose and a lower quality agarose from Competitor C. The ladder was stained with Midori Green Direct.
Fig. 2: Small Band Detection
Detection of small bands using high quality FastGene Agarose and Competitor C‘s Agarose. All seven bands from the ladder are visible when using FastGene Agarose. When comparing the green box to the red box, Competitor C‘s agarose does not show the lowest three bands.
