FastGene Western Blot Complete System: The Versatile Solution for Protein Analysis
The FastGene® Western Blot Complete System is an integrated laboratory solution designed to handle the entire vertical electrophoresis workflow, from initial protein separation to the final membrane transfer. Modern proteomics requires high reproducibility and ease of use; this system addresses these needs by providing a modular architecture that easily converts from an SDS-PAGE running station into a high-efficiency tank blotting unit. By using a single footprint for both processes, laboratories can save valuable bench space while ensuring total hardware compatibility.
At the core of the system is a precision-engineered electrophoresis tank and an inner chamber that creates a secure, leak-free environment for gel runs. When transitioning to Western Blotting, the inner running core is replaced with the included transfer cassettes and fibre pads. This “wet” transfer method is widely regarded as the gold standard for quantitative protein recovery, as the large buffer volume provides superior heat dissipation and maintains a stable pH, protecting the integrity of sensitive antigens and high-molecular-weight proteins.
Key Benefits:
- Dual-Purpose Functionality: Maximises laboratory ROI. A single system that performs both SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting, reducing the need for multiple, bulky hardware setups.
- Uncompromising Seal Integrity: Eliminates buffer leakage. Utilises high-grade silicone gaskets and a robust clamping mechanism to ensure the electrical current is directed precisely through the gel.
- High-Throughput Capacity: Processes multiple samples simultaneously. Capable of running up to two gels or two blots at once, making it ideal for comparative studies and high-volume research.
- Optimised Thermal Control: Prevents protein denaturation. The tank design and wet transfer configuration facilitate efficient cooling, ensuring sharp bands and consistent transfer efficiency across the entire membrane.

A Modular Workflow
The FastGene® Complete System is designed for rapid transitions. The colour-coded components (Black for Cathode, Red for Anode) guide the user through the setup of the transfer “sandwich,” ensuring that protein migration is always directed toward the membrane. This intuitive design minimises common user errors, such as reversed polarity, which can lead to the loss of precious samples.
